A metal-finishing company plans to open its first central United States facility in Cedar Park, with 170 full-time jobs expected if the project proceeds as announced.
Elite Metal Finishing is set to occupy about 50,000 square feet at Cedar Tech I. The City of Cedar Park says the company anticipates investing $10 million in the facility and paying an average annual wage of approximately $60,000 across the planned jobs.
The figures are company projections recorded in the city's announcement, rather than jobs that are already available. No opening date or recruitment timetable was included, so prospective applicants should wait for vacancies published by the company through an official channel.
What the Cedar Park facility would do
Elite Metal Finishing provides plating, coating, thermal treatment and testing services. Its work supports commercial, military and aerospace customers, making the proposed plant part of Cedar Park's advanced-manufacturing economy rather than a customer-facing retail operation.
The central Texas location would give the company a base closer to customers and suppliers in the region. Cedar Tech I is also due to house Machine Sciences, a precision manufacturer whose separate Cedar Park investment was announced on the same day.
City agreement approved
Cedar Park City Council approved a performance-based economic development agreement for the Elite Metal Finishing project. Such agreements generally connect public incentives to agreed investment, employment or performance milestones; the announcement does not say that the entire anticipated investment comes from the city.
Residents should therefore distinguish between three separate numbers: the floor space the company expects to occupy, its anticipated private investment and the number of full-time jobs it plans to create. They describe the proposed scale of the project, not a guaranteed opening-day total.
The announcement adds to a series of manufacturing projects around Cedar Park and the wider north Austin area. For the city, the stated benefit is a larger employment base with skilled industrial roles and an average wage above many entry-level service positions.
