Two children's play areas at Lakeline Park are scheduled to remain closed for maintenance from Monday, September 14, through Friday, September 18.

The closure covers the full playground intended for children aged five to 12. The swing set within the playground for children aged two to five is also closed, according to the City of Cedar Park.

The city's notice does not say that the whole park is closed. Other facilities may remain available, but visitors should follow signs and fencing on site and check for updates before making a journey specifically to use the playground.

Which areas are affected?

The important distinction for families is that the older children's playground is completely within the work zone, while the notice identifies only the swings in the younger children's playground.

Maintenance fencing is there to separate visitors from active work. The city has warned that entering the closed area could delay the work and extend the closure, so adults should not move barriers even when workers are not visible.

The published end date is a planned schedule rather than a guarantee that equipment will reopen at a particular hour on September 18. Weather, inspections or additional repairs could change the timing.

Other Lakeline Park facilities

Lakeline Park opened in March 2023 and includes a pavilion, great lawn, fishing pier, kayak launch, sports fields and trails as well as its playgrounds. Availability can vary during maintenance or organized activities, so a facility being outside this specific work notice does not override any separate closure displayed at the park.

Families seeking an alternative play area should use Cedar Park's official parks information to check locations and current conditions. Social-media comments or old map listings may not reflect temporary maintenance.

The short closure is intended to allow work to be completed safely. Keeping visitors outside the fenced area protects children and contractors and reduces the risk that the maintenance period has to be extended.

The affected equipment and planned dates are confirmed in the City of Cedar Park's Lakeline Park maintenance notice.
